Quote Of The Day Challenge – Day 3

The rules of the challenge are basically to post one quote a day and tag three people to do the same, for three days.

I’d like to end with this quote by Lauren Bullock, featured on Button Poetry.

I think it is absolutely beautiful.

“When she broke your heart, did she also crack your spine so you would always fall in her direction?”

Lauren Bullock

Today, I’d like to tag everybody who follows my blog for this challenge! Have fun doing the Quote Of The Day Challenge, everyone. xxx

Quote Of The Day Challenge – Day 2

The rules, basically, are that you have to post one quote a day and tag three people to take on the same challenge. I believe the challenge is for three days, not positive though, sorry!

I cannot stress enough how much I love this quote by Finn Butler.

everyone who terrifies you

“Everyone who terrifies you is sixty-five percent water. And everyone you love is made of stardust, and I know sometimes you cannot even breathe deeply, and the night sky is no home, and you have cried yourself to sleep enough times that you are down to your last two percent; but nothing is infinite, not even loss. You are made of the sea and the stars, and one day you are going to find yourself again.”
Finn Butler

Quote Of The Day Challenge – Day 1

A massive thanks to Oceanoffear and Tazzie Dee for nominating me for the Quote Of The Day challenge! Now I normally do QOTD posts on my blog, but lately I’ve been a bit busy and I’ve really been half-arsing it with posts of all sorts. So this challenge was a much needed push.

The rules, basically, are that you have to post one quote a day and tag three people to take on the same challenge.

bitter pill

This quote is actually a verse from Patty Griffin‘s song, Useless Desires. There’s this … beauty, I suppose, to it, that resonates with me.

For Day 1, I tag these bloggers:

Lazy Sunday: My Ring, Orange S03, & More

There wasn’t much going on this weekend, so I decided to do some online shopping. There’s a ton of amazing Facebook pages out there which are selling some seriously cool stuff these days. I purchased this ring from MeeMo’s Accessories, a page offering beautiful, unique jewelry.

I was highly impressed by their services. I ordered via WhatsApp on Friday and my ring was delivered to me the very next day. The quality of the product is very good. Overall I’m happy with my purchase; I would definitely recommend this page to anyone looking for quality, affordable jewelry.

They have some lovely, reasonably-priced items up for grabs on their Facebook page.

In other news, I finally finished Season 3 of Orange Is The New Black this week. If you don’t watch this show, what is wrong with you?!?! you must give it a try!!! This season, like the previous two, was amazing. This is one show that keeps you gripped and feeling for the characters, even the relatively unlikable ones, throughout. Can’t wait for Season 4, especially because of how Season 3 ended!

Also, the book I’m reading these days is Princess: More Tears To Cry by Jean Sasson. This is the fourth book in the Princess series, detailing the life of a Saudi Princess. I loved the previous three and have read and re-read them countless times, though I find the fourth book to be decidedly more depressing than the first three. Despite some tragic story lines, the first three books had relatively more lighter moments than this one. If you’re a fan of this series or you enjoy reading non-fiction, you might want to check this book out. Here’s the Goodreads link.

So that’s about it from my end. I’ll leave you now with a quote from this season of Orange Is The New Black, spoken by one of the show’s most memorable characters.

Wishing you and yours an enjoyable and relaxing Sunday,

P.S.: I’m not promoting any of the Facebook pages, shows, or books mentioned in his post – I just happen to really like all of them!

Quote Of The Day, Wayward, & Royal Oats

Today’s quote is from one of my favourite shows which wrapped up with a stellar second season this past week. This line is courtesy of Lily Frankenstein (played by Billie Piper, who delivered an outstanding performance this season), spoken to Frankenstein’s Creature (Rory Kinnear).

I cannot tell you how much I love this show. If you’re interested, check it out on IMDb!

Another show I’ve started watching recently is Wayward Pines, which I was interested in mainly because I’m a fan of most of the cast members. It’s part of the Drama/Mystery/Sci-Fi genre. I’m currently on S01E03 and its getting good.

And the song of the week for me has to be Royal Oats by AGO. This track has a very nostalgic, feel-good vibe to it and it’s on repeat on my iPod these days. Check it out on SoundCloud

Btw, I didn’t know what “royal oats” meant before I heard this song. If you don’t either, check it out on Urban Dictionary, lol.

So that basically concludes today’s lifestyle post!

Thanks for reading, take care, and see you soon.

P.S.: I’m not promoting any of the shows or songs mentioned in this post; I just happen to be enjoying them at the moment!

Quote Of The Day

I love Tallulah Bankhead. Can’t say it enough. I could read about her for hours. She was an actress and a prominent figure of the flapper era, known for being far ahead of her time, in her thoughts and her actions.
