How to apply

For first-time use
To prep the pen, remove the AccuFlex™ tip protector & discard. Twist base until gel appears on tip. Wipe off excess.

For daily use
Wipe leftover gel off AccuFlex™ tip before each use to get fresh liner every time. Slowly twist base until a tiny amount of gel appears on tip. Rest the tip on the base of your lashes and guide along your lashline from either the inner or outer corner. The angled AccuFlex™ tip works both ways.

The Deal

So I have the tiny version of this gel eyeliner, the deluxe version. It contains 0.01 oz of the product, as compared to 0.04 oz in the full version. It’s supposed to be long lasting (24 hours), and waterproof.

The first time you use it, you have to fully twist the bottom of the pen around 10-15 times at least before you see the gel liner rise up to the tip. The tip has an opening in it (shown below) from which the liner comes out.

Let’s see how this liner has performed, according to me.

The Good

Insanely pigmented. Rich black color. Lovvve it.

It is long wearing for sure. Lasted for around 6 hours on me while I was out in humid weather, and before I came back home and washed it off, it was as good as new.

This gel liner’s formula is creamy; it glides above my lashline. It does, as the packaging says, hug the lashline.

Yes it is waterproof. Washing it off is not easy.

Did my eyes look visibly larger? I’ll have to go with yes.

If you have enough time, you can create a killer cat-eye look with this liner.

The Bad

I am not a fan of the tip. I feel like you really need to take your time applying the product and once the product you pushed out finishes, you have to twist it up again to continue applying it. I know BeneFit was probably going for something new and innovative and cutting down on the need to apply gel liner with a brush. But I honestly find that a brush and a pot of gel liner are quicker to work with than this AccuFlex™-tip pen. At least with a brush, you have more control over application.

I was in a hurry today and decided to use this liner. I had to abandon it mid-way and resume application with my trusty Diana Of London Super Fine liner because the BeneFit one was such a pain.

Moreover, the tip tugged at my lashline a bit which I didn’t like.

I have sensitive eyes and the formula kind of felt drying when I wore this liner.

There was a tiny bit of fallout which is common with gel formulas.

This is an expensive product at $24.00 for 0.04 oz.

Twist the bottom of the pen a few times till you see the product rise up from inside the tip and apply onto your lashline. I would say moisturize your eyelids before applying this, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin and/or eyes.

Do I recommend this product?

If you’re looking for a good quality intense black liner and have a few minutes to spare while applying it, this is a good option, if you have the money for it.

If you ain’t about that life, there’s a lot of good quality drugstore gel liners out there. If you want suggestions, comment below and I’ll try to help you out.

As for a repurchase, I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me but I can apply gel liner with a brush in seconds compared to my struggle with this AccuFlex™-tip. However, this has recently come out in a variety of colors and I really want the purple one. Maybe next time I’ll get a deluxe version of that.

  1. Love it. I have the mini as well, and I gotta agree with your review. I’m slowly getting the hang of applying it, though, haha. It’s good for outlining your liner, I use another liner to fill it in. =P

  2. It is a very interesting post, thank you. I’ve tried this product, but this is my big negative… I cant make beautiful and accurate winds with it.. Gel eyeliner with a brush still are my best friends 🙂
