Apologies for being MIA for a while now; it’s been a busy week. So today I’ll unwind by reviewing a product that falls into my favorite category: highlighters.*heavenly music plays in the background*
A relative who is well aware of my love for highlighters bought me this product on a recent trip to Dubai. LUSH describes their Feeling Younger Skin Tint as follows:
A youthful glow
We wanted a highlighting skin tint that would give a gorgeous glow wherever it was applied, so we started with a base of beautiful ingredients (as we like to do). Soothing oatmeal decoction, cocoa butter and some of the best oils for the skin, jojoba and almond oils are blended together for a nourishing base that’s good for your skin. Blended in is a pigment that reflects light, brightening cheek bones, brow bones, the inner eyelid or even your décolletage for a sexy glow.

How to use this product:
What is this?
Basically this is a 20 g pot of luminizer, which can be used as described by LUSH, above. The consistency is somewhere between liquid to cream, more on the cream side, I’d say. It is made of natural ingredients, and is vegan. Being a cream highlight, this product has a dewy, radiant finish.
This has a really pretty, white-gold shimmer to it. I don’t know how to explain it. It looks like very thin strings of gold thread have been spun into it. (Lol, that sounds magical).
The highlight is subtle, not too harsh, though it can be built up. The consistency is creamy and allows for easy application, as long as you have a swift hand.
This actually does brighten up my face when worn over BB cream or foundation.
Oh me it lasted for 5 hours before slightly fading in hot, humid weather. It leaves behind some amount of shimmer as it fades.
The yellow undertones are likely to suit more skin tones.
20 g is a lot of product for the price paid.
It is a natural and vegan product which is likely to appeal to people who prefer those qualities in their makeup.
While I have some issues with the packaging, I love that I own this product. It looks like a beautiful, cute little jar of creamy pixie dust. ❤
The gold shimmer in this, while subtle, is still visible, as I’ve mentioned with my bizarre “gold thread” explanation. However if you wear it on top of a base such as a BB cream or foundation, the product tends to blend into it well. All said and done, it doesn’t look like a glitter bomb exploded on your face.
You have to be quick to apply this as it dries quickly, and you need to blend it with light, swift circular dabs or it will go on streaky.
Without makeup (any base such as BB cream or foundation) on my face, this tends to look a little streaky. The gold shimmer brings out the yellow in my skin a little too much for my liking.
Luminizers have a tendency to emphasise imperfections such as pores or pimples or other skin issues, and this one is no different.
You have to dip your fingers in the jar to apply the product, which has “hygiene issues” written all over it. (Though despite that I like my little jar of swirly pixie dust.)
LUSH says you can apply this to your under eye area as well but that only made my under eye area look like an oily shimmery mess so I didn’t do that again.
It has an expiration date so it is best used before that. (The expiry is around a year after you first purchase the product.)
It is moderately expensive. Might be very expensive to some depending on their budget.
LUSH says you can mix this with your favorite moisturizer or color supplement, which I have yet to try. You can also apply this under your eyes, which did not work for me.
I use light, swift, circular dabs to apply this to my cheekbones with my finger. Applying this with a brush might not be ideal due to how quickly it dries on the skin.
I use very little powder on top so as not to ruin the glowy effect.
Do I recommend this?
You might want to go for this product if you are looking for a luminizer that:
- is natural
- is vegan
- has a creamy formula
- looks subtle
- has yellow undertones
- gives a dewy, glowy look to the skin
I like this product and I think it will last me a while. Not sure about a repurchase though.
Retails for around AED 73 at LUSH, Dubai Mall. Available on LUSH USA for $18.95.
