Hello Glow Whitening Plus Facial Polish is a natural powder facial polish which promises to brighten and whiten your complexion with use. I bought this 100 mg bottle for the summer months when even an hour out in the sun is enough to give me a visible tan.
Hello Glow is manufactured by Rose Link, a UK-based company, which claims:
What is it?
A luxurious hand blended silky powder, that glides over skin to whiten and brighten the complexion instantly.
What’s in it?100% natural combination of coconut milk powder, potato starch, milk, honey, rice and essential oils
How does it work?
Coconut milk contains natural silicones to create a very superior skin moisturiser. Combined with potato starch, which is a substantial source of Vitamin C, this product provides an amazingly natural bleaching effect. Honey acts as a natural humectant, attracting moisture to leave skin smooth and glowing.
How do I use it?
Pour onto wet hands, rub palms together to create a smooth paste, gently massage onto skin for 20 seconds and rinse off with cold water to reveal a radiant complexion. Use twice a day for optimum results.
Let’s see if this product lives up to its claims.
It works. I’ve been using this product regularly for a month-and-a-half now, and by regularly, I mean 2-3 times a week. The immediate effects are that it exfoliates and instantly brightens the skin after use, making it soft and smooth. It literally makes my face glow. And the glow remains for the entire day, despite any makeup I wear or any other products I use on my face.
The long-term effects, too, are visible. In the 1.5 months I’ve been using this, my face has become visibly brighter. I can’t say much about whitening, but my skin is noticeably more even-toned. And my blemishes (caused mainly by pimples), which were quite splotchy and brown, have lightened considerably.
So the product works to make my skin radiant and soft immediately after use and in the long-run I’ve seen my skin become brighter and more even-toned.
Also, you need a very tiny amount to cover the face. Even after 1.5 months of use, it looks like I’ve barely touched the product. Even with daily use, this would last you at least around a month or two, IMO. This bottle will last me a long time, I think.
The powder is finely milled and its easy to form a paste with it. It doesn’t feel rough on the face.
After use it leaves behind a light, clean, fresh scent which I personally love. Its such a … *cute* scent.
I wouldn’t recommend this product for daily use. It can make your skin dry, red, and itchy, especially if your skin is on the dry or sensitive side. It is best for use a few times a week.
I don’t like the bottle design. I know it was probably meant for practicality but when the bottle is tilted, the powder settles into the edges of the cap and when you open it, it spills out a bit, flying all over the place. So if you buy it, make sure to screw the cap on tightly and don’t tilt your bottle around too much.
Also, at Rs.1500 ($15) it can be a bit expensive. I bought it off Just4Girls, who have recently reduced the price to Rs.1200 ($12) which is still high, IMO. However, as the product works and lasts long, I suppose the price is somewhat justified.
I wet my face and pour a small amount of the polish powder into the palm of my hand. I then use a tiny bit of water to make a wet paste out of it which I then rub onto my face for 20-30 seconds before rinsing it off with water.
I do this regularly every 2 to 3 days per week, in the morning when I wake up or at night before I go to bed. It is best to avoid direct sunlight immediately after using it, as your skin has just been exfoliated and is more prone to sun damage then.
Do I recommend this?
If you’re looking for a facial polish or exfoliator that works to smooth and brighten your skin and make it more radiant over time, this is a good product to try. If you want an exfoliator for daily use, I wouldn’t suggest this to you, especially if you have dry or sensitive skin.
If you like natural skincare products, this is a good option.
I personally love this product as it has worked for me, and I will likely repurchase it.
